Cookie Policy

Most of what we store is browser local storage rather than cookies, but the principle is the same, small pieces of data kept on your device.

  Two random identifiers this browser generates about itself, so we can tell one visit from another and count how many people used the site. They contain nothing about you, are never shared, and are not used for advertising.

  Advertising

  Set by the Meta Pixel. Lets Meta tell that a visit, a sign-up or a purchase came from the same browser that saw one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram, so we can measure and improve those ads. They hold random identifiers, not your name or email.

We keep our own record of how the site is used: which pages were opened, which buttons were pressed, and where people stopped. It is stored on our own servers, not sent to an advertising network, and it is what tells us that a page is confusing or a step is broken.

We do not record anything you type. Not the contents of a form, not a search, not a message, not a password. We do not store your IP address, and we do not buy or sell any of this. If you are signed in, the record is linked to your account so we can help when you contact support; if you are not, it is linked only to the random browser id above. Everything is deleted after about thirteen months.

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we use Meta's pixel to measure whether those ads work. When you use this site, your browser tells Meta that a page was viewed, and at a few moments that matter to us: when you look at a course, create an account, start a checkout or complete a purchase, with the course and the amount in naira.

We never give Meta your name, your email address, your phone number or anything you type. Meta can link these events to a Facebook or Instagram account you are signed in to in the same browser, under Meta's own privacy policy. The pixel is not loaded on the pages our staff use to run the academy.

When Paystack confirms a payment, our server sends Meta the same purchase once more, directly, in case your browser blocked the pixel. Meta counts it once. That copy carries the course, the amount, a one-way hash of your account number, the _fbp cookie above, and your browser's address and type. Still no name, email or phone number, and we do not store your browser's address to send it.

Some parts of the site load from other companies, and those companies set their own cookies when they do. We name them rather than calling them "our providers", because which company it is changes what happens on your device.

• Paystack sets cookies on its own hosted payment page while you are paying.
• YouTube, Vimeo and Bunny.net host our lesson videos, depending on the lesson. Playing a video contacts that provider, and YouTube and Vimeo in particular may set cookies used for their own analytics.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces, which means Google receives the request when a page loads.
• Meta runs the advertising pixel described above, which loads from Meta's servers on every page of the site.

You can clear all of this through your browser settings at any time. Clearing the essential entries will sign you out and empty your cart.

The Meta Pixel loads for every visitor. To stop it, you can block third-party cookies or use a tracker blocker in your browser, clear the _fbp cookie, or turn off ad tracking in your Facebook or Instagram settings under Accounts Centre, Ad preferences. The site works the same either way. The other third-party cookies above only appear when you use the feature that loads them, such as playing a video or paying.

If what we store changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top will tell you when.
